I was diagnosed as a Celiac when I was sixteen months old. I slowly moved away from a gluten free diet as a youngster and learned to live with a constant stomach ache. I thought that is how everyone was. I also lived with rashes including one on the back of my knee which had been there ever since I could remember. Other's would come and go including athlete's foot and on my eye lids. Fortunately I had dinner with a gastroenterologist. She convinced me that if I was a Celiac at sixteen months, I was still a Celiac. I took the blood test and it came back overwhelmingly conclusive, so i skipped having a scope which is the gold standard. From that day, I had to learn what it meant to eat Gluten Free.
